About Coolamon Landcare Group
The Coolamon Landcare Group is a volunteer‑run community group working to protect and restore the natural landscapes of the Coolamon Shire. We support local people to protect habitat, conserve endemic species, and strengthen the resilience of our region.
Our work is practical, local, and grounded in the ecology of this region.
What We Do
Our focus is on:
- Habitat restoration — planting native species, improving ground-cover to restore native vegetation and support long‑term ecological recovery
- Wildlife support — improving habitat for local wildlife, including the installation of nest boxes, planting endemic plants, and working alongside local landholders
- Community education — workshops, field days, and hands‑on learning for all ages
- Local partnerships — collaborating with landholders, schools, council, and regional organisations
Why Landcare Matters in Coolamon
The Coolamon landscape is a mosaic of farmland, remnant woodland, travelling stock reserves, and wildlife corridors. These places support unique species and ecological communities — but they need active care to stay healthy.
